2008: Πρόκριση στο Παγκόσμιο / Qualifying for the World Championship!

Μετά από απουσία σχεδόν 10 ετών, η Εθνική Ομάδα κατάφερε να προκριθεί στο Παγκόσμιο Πρωτάθλημα Div.3  του 2008! Πρόκεται για τη μεγαλύτερη στιγμή του αθλήματος εφόνος αυτή έδωσε το έναυσμα να ανοίξει το πρώτο παγοδρόμιο στην Ελλάδα μετά από 7 χρόνια. Έτσι, μετά από 9 χρόνια παύσης, διεξήχθη το πρώτο Πανελλήνιο Πρωτάθλημα. Η πρόκριση ήταν καθοριστική καθώς εδραίωσε το άθλημα στα ελληνικά και στα παγκόσμιο δρώμενα.

After almost 10 years of absence, the Greek National Ice Hockey Team qualified for the 2008 IIHF World Championship Div.III. It was the biggest moment in the history of the sport since in addition to the Nation Team’s success, this qualification set the stage for the opening of the first ice rink in Greece after 7 years. The opening of the ice rink helped to hold the first Greek Championship after 9 years. The National Team’s qualification started it all and thanks to this, the sport continues to exist to this day!
